Understanding how to use a digital SLR camera, photographic terms, and basic composition can be challenging for any beginner. In this workshop, Adam takes a simple approach to explaining the fundamentals of photography through a variety of on-location shoots in New York City. The workshop is divided into easy to follow segments that will produce great results and provide a solid foundation for the beginner photographer. Adam also defines many common photography terms to help demystify the language of photography. Chapters include: Getting To Know Your DSLR Equipment: How the DSLR camera works, the mode dial settings, how to properly hand hold when shooting, and shooting from a tri-pod. Understanding the Basics: How the ISO, Shutter speed, F-Stop and the light meter work to create an exposure. Exposure: Working with the histogram, the aperture, the shutter Lenses: How lenses work, zoom lenses, wide, medium and telephoto Composition: The rule of thirds, leading lines, simplifying, backgrounds, and frames. Creating Drama: Polarizing filters, using blur, late & early light, sun-stars, and panning.
